THAT MEET IN THE AFTERNOON
THIRD TUESDAY BOOK CLUB - 3rd Tues., 12 noon. Katharine Wells (610-869-3861). The group meets at noon for lunch. Members bring a sandwich and the hostess supplies beverage and dessert. Each meeting a volunteer reviews a book of her choice. One month we discuss a book that we all have read (pre-chosen). The group does not meet in December. Meets in May for a luncheon. New members are welcome.
LO-CAL GOURMET - 4th Wed., 12 noon. Betty Sherburne (239-4506). Group meets in homes to prepare and enjoy low calorie luncheons. Some meetings are held in restaurants. This group's membership is currently at full capacity.
GROUPS
THAT MEET IN THE EVENING
CONTEMPORARY CHANCES AND CHOICES (3C’s) - 4th Mon., 7:30 p.m. Ann Bogda (302-477-0326). This is a book review group that meets monthly September through May, except December, at Silverside Church. In June, July, and August the group meets at the Cokesbury Village. Book selections include both fiction and non-fiction. Reading suggestions are discussed at the spring salad supper with an attempt to select books available at the library or in paperback. For each meeting, members read the book selected for the month, and all participate in discussions led by a designated leader. A volunteer hostess provides light refreshments. There is no limit on the number of members. All who enjoy reading and discussing books are welcome!
EVENING HANDCRAFTS - 4th Wed., 7:30 p.m. Mary Colbourn (994-0204). The group meets to do various craft projects. Members meet in each other's homes to do crafts; taking turns hosting, baking and leading crafts. Planning meeting in May decides craft projects for following year.
FILMS, DRAMA, AND LITERATURE - 2nd Mon., 7:00 p.m. Janet Huntsberger (655-1402). This new name for the Play Reading Study Group reflects members’ interest in attending plays, viewing films, and reading literature – in addition to reading and discussing plays. A low-key, relaxed, and friendly group, we meet in members’ homes monthly except January, July, and August. The hostess leads the discussion and prepares light refreshments. The schedule for the next year is discussed at the June meeting. Visitors and new members are always welcome!
